Heavy Hearts

It is with honest grief that I must announce that our dear friend, Baroness Bebhinn has had a family emergency, and that she and Lord Ruaidhri will be moving back to Florida within the next couple of weeks. Due to a variety of circumstances, they will no longer be playing in the SCA after their move. They are generously donating several things to our shire so that we once again will have loaner gear and gold key after our storage was burgled last spring. To contact them, email ruaidhrimaccrimthainnns@gmail.com or baronessbebhinn@gmail.com but keep in mind that they are in a whirlwind of logistics and may take some time in getting back to you.

It's no secret that both of these wonderful people have meant the world to our shire. I can honestly say that in my eyes, nobody embodies what it means to be a Scadian the way Baroness Bebhinn, and Lord Ruaidhri do. Before Bebhinn moved here, you most likely weren't sure our group still existed, and then suddenly there we were. This is 100% due to the leadership, generosity of home, skill and spirit, and boundless good will towards the members of our group that they have shown on a daily basis. Bebhinn came in and helped us connect with events and groups across the kingdom. Whether she was showing us how to organize a group camp site at last year's WW, feastocratting at the last minute, or taking up the kingdom signate office because there was nobody else who could, she inspired us to expect more from ourselves. Then Ruaidhri arrived to lend his grounding presence to our meetings, his encouraging words to our new fighters, and a mind as quick as his madu to our group. There has never been a day, since the instant they moved here, that any of us couldn't have shown up at their home for help with anything Scadian or mundane. I have rarely in my life been as inspired to reach out and get involved with something, as I have been with Baroness Bebhinn and Lord Ruaidhri's example. Both of them have been part of our dream team, and will be powerfully missed. We hope you will join us in wishing them the best for their future, and enjoy looking back on the memories of the past year and a half together.
