     The Duluth, MN area chapter of the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA) is small group of great people who are always looking for more people to come join the fun!

     Activities include (but are not limited to) Classes and workshops on medieval arts and sciences, help with historical research as pertains to the SCA, and cheery company for all involved.

History of our Shire:

Our shire is one of the hundreds of chapters around the world of the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA), a 501(c)3 educational nonprofit. What do we do, you ask? We recreate and re-enact pre-17th century history through events and activities for education and fun!

 

o Inception: March 19, 1991

o Established as Incipient: January 11, 1992

o Name "Shire of the Inner Sea" passed by College of Heralds: 1993

o The Shire of the Inner Sea passes Curia: August 1995

o The Shire of the Inner Sea was recognized and granted full status by the crown: Jan. 6, 1996

o Where We are Located: Within the Known World of SCA, the Shire of the Inner Sea is located in the Kingdom of Northshield (which was a principality of the Middle Kingdom (i.e. Midrealm) at the time of our founding).

 

Using modern geography, the Shire of the Inner Sea is located around Duluth, MN and the surrounding area, north to the Canadian border. Our members hail from Duluth, Cloquet, Wrenshall, Mahtowa, Superior and beyond.
